Lake Park is the name of the gardens on the Bell Resguard estate, whichRomà Fabra i Puig, marquis of Masnou, ordered built at the beginning of the 20th century as a recreational space at his summer residence.
These lovely 6400 m2 gardens are laid out in a composition typical of late 19th century French Neoclassicism. Particularly striking is the central lake or pond with an island exactly in the middle that is accessed by crossing a bridge. At the end opposite the entrance is one of the park’s most spectacular enclaves, the landscaped area with a Romantic inspiration made up of a raised viewpoint, a cove and a waterfall. The central esplanade and the corridors surrounding the lake are also lovely, as well as the wealth of ornamental plants.
Lake Park contains a large variety of plants, both local and from around the world. Especially interesting are the trees with compound leaves flanking the central esplanade and paths, as well as the large diversity of plants that imbue the gardens with chromatic notes.
With respect to the Park’s animal life, there is a large diversity of birds, which you can spot with a bit of patience.
